Yes, it's true !
I am not cracking jokes over here. Their XPS 17 which is as similar and as beautiful as XPS 15 and XPS 13 has chosen the route of grabbing attention of the people if you think from its design perspectives. ( I am not agreeing that its other specifications are not worth appreciating ).
I am not going to perplex you anymore. Let me drive you straight away to their characteristics.
What a hood Dell XPS 17 has ! Built up with polished Silver Aluminium material , Dell XPS 17 is no more less than an epitome of pulchritude. Although, hood is not much enshrined with decorative stuff except with their company logo, but, still, don't leave a chance to mesmerise with their external pulchritude.
Well, the story of the exterior part was a bonny one. What about its interior architecture then ? Will it be as bonny as the exterior part ? Yes, it's good. The entire keyboard deck and palm rest are covered with black carbon fiber. Deck is very soft to touch without any signs of coarseness on it. However, the thing would have been more eye-catching one if the deck was coloured with Arctic White. Isn't it ? I think that Arctic White ( which is present in Dell XPS 13 and 15 ) is more alluring than the black Carbon fiber. What's your opinion regarding this ? Dell XPS 17 measures 14.7 x 9.8 x 0.8-inch and weighs 5.5 pounds . I have seen several people facing weight issues with their respective laptops and they need to manage the intake of items in their bag on a regular basis. DISPLAY
Before I jot down regarding its display features, I am desirous to convey that Dell XPS 17's display quality is not going to make you feel low. Mark it. Merits continue.
Configured with a 17-inch, Dell XPS 17's touch display screen throws that type of atmosphere where you find yourself bemused in the scene which you are watching on the screen. Dell XPS 17's display panel has a bit higher than 4K resolution. What we know about 4K resolution is 3840 x 2160 pixels . In Dell XPS 17, the display panel has a resolution of 3820 x 2400 pixels. Has it pass or not ? Whether it's your or mine, the answer must be a big YES. You will understand better when XPS 17 will be in front of you and will be popping out colours from the screen.
Unquestionably, XPS 17's display screen is incorporated with top notch specifications. Nevertheless, someone may not be that much satisfied with their pre-configured specifications and want to adjust screen colour according to their own choice. Let's not worry. There are two extra applications present in the laptop , that is, Dell Premier Color and Dell CinemaColor, which adjusts the screen color temperature, brightness etc. . That's very great. Eye-strain relevant issues won't perpetuate.
You might have noticed several times while using a laptop that the screen appears to be hazy when you try to look at the screen from an angle. Only thing which you can do at that time is just sit exactly in front of the screen after which the screenplay seems vivid to your eyes. How-beit, you won't face the same thing in Dell XPS 17. Its screen is covered with anti-reflective coating that lets you look at the screen from an angle .

XPS 17's chiclet style keyboard, structured between two vertical speakers, offers comfy typing with less quantum of effort. Its keys travel 1.3 mm which is considered as a good travel distance for typing. XPS 17's keys are large-sized enough and well-spaced in between.
Now answer me to my question. What would you do suddenly if the electricity of the place where you are working with your gadget gone off ? Or suppose your room partner says to switch off the light because he/she wants to sleep earlier. What would you do then ? Would you fight with your friend to let the light remain on or stop working ? Luckily, you don't need to undergo a big deal, rather, Dell XPS 17 is blessed with a backlighting feature that lightens up the switches and lets you type even in dark rooms .
Dell XPS 17's 6 x 3.5 inch touchpad offers clicky touches and smooth swipes and scrolls. Hulk in size, this touchpad won't let you drive out your fingers while swiping or scrolling. Features like pinch- to-zoom, multiple finger gestures are available in Dell XPS 17's touchpad.

Powered by a 2.3-GHz Intel Core i7-10875H processor, 32GB of RAM and a 1TB M.2 PCIe SSD, Dell XPS 17 is just a miniature of an unstoppable hulky device which hardly fully enervates in a day. Multitasking is achievable over here as you can run 40 Google Chrome tabs togetherly along with some YouTube videos without hitting the brakes. That's the nicer part for each and every that fellow who is dealing with multiple applications simultaneously.
If all these above facts are not enough to make you realise its enormity then it's performance scores are on the way for your realisation. Let me start with Geekbench 5.0 one . XPS 17 achieved 7740 in Geekbench 5.0 benchmark test. Not a ballpark figure. After achieving 7740 , XPS 17 has crossed 4278 premium laptop averages.
On the Handbrake test, XPS 17 transcoded a 4K video to 1080p in just 8 minutes and 41 seconds.
SSD transfers files at the rate of 620.6 megabytes per second. The transfer rate is not as bad as it might seem if you compare its speed with the speed of its competitors. But still an appreciable one.
Counting performance based upon its gaming and editing capabilities won't be a demoralising one for the readers because the fps of almost every benchmark test crosses the average level.
a) On Dirt 3 benchmark, XPS 17 hits 112 fps at 3840 x 2400 resolution, surpassing 65-fps premium laptop average.
b) On the Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark, XPS 17 achieves 48-fps at 1080p surpassing 41-fps category average, and, at 4K panel, it achieves 12 fps and remains lesser than premium category average, that is, 13 fps.
c) On the Hitman benchmark test, XPS 17 hit 74 fps at 1080p surpassing 70 fps category average. At 4K panel, it hits 36 fps and goes beyond the 35-fps category average.
The reason behind all these amazing gaming benchmark scores is Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q GPU with 6 GB of VRAM. So can't we reckon XPS 17 as a gaming device ? Yes, it deserves the title. And the above-mentioned GPU doesn't manage the graphical work single-handedly, rather, an integrated Intel UHD Graphics GPU gets activated itself whenever the tasks require less power.
PORTS
Dell XPS 17 incorporates a sufficient number of necessary ports. Packed with 4 Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports and each of them works as a charging port and a DisplayPort compatibility. So each serves two purposes. Did you point out the merit over here ? Which word would be best to define this merit ? For me it clearly gesticulates the word " productivity " . It also highlights the dexterity of the company's workmanship.
Along with 4 Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports, XPS 17 is also infixed with a full size SD card reader and a 3.5 mm headset jack.
AUDIO
Take a satisfying breath if you were very much bothered about the music system of XPS 17 till now. Dell XPS 17 is going to soothe your ears because they are supported with quad-system speakers ( 2 primaries, 2 tweeters ) . Speakers are placed, at both sides beside the keyboard vertically.
One thing you must be very much clear is the quad-system speaker cannot deliver that party-like ambience where people usually find themselves engrossed in the tune of the music.
BATTERY
Dell XPS 17's battery stands for 9 hours and 4 minutes in Laptopmag Battery Test after continuously web surfing over Wi-Fi at 150 nits of brightness which is an admirable thing because usually we don't see such stamina in other laptops when they undergo the same battery test at 4K panel.
WEBCAM
Dell XPS 17's webcam is undeniable in terms of satiating photography. Quite good when you are in a desire to video call someone, let say, your family or friends for a couple of minutes/hours. But if you are in a need to hook up with continuous video conferencing just because for corporate meetings , online classes etc. then you should look out for some top-notch webcams that let you do video calling throughout the day.
